Doreen house

The impressive existing timber structure & features of our client’s family home provided a rustic & warm basis for the refresh and extension to its interior spaces. Voluminous ceilings, and spectacular 360 degree views of the rural landscape inspired a balance of natural tones & textures, paired with contrasting monochrome features to the updated kitchen & bar spaces creates an architectural statement whilst providing a functional central zone within this family home.

It was crucial to ensure the southern aspect of the home felt light & bright, lacking the flooding natural light of the northern elevation. Acoustically treated ceilings through the central arrival space assisted in absorbing much of the noise transfer between the kitchen & lounge zones – critical for a family of 6! – and the renovation of kids bedroom & bathroom wing made way for a functional, long-lasting design which will service this family for many years to come.
